The C++ Online 2027 Call for Speakers runs until 20th November 2026. The event runs 10th-12th March 2027.

So you'd like to present at C++ Online? Great! We look forward to and welcome submissions from everyone, especially those who might find the traditional in-person conference format exclusionary.

Workshop Submissions can be made through our separate Call For Workshops, here:

About The Event

C++Online 2027 will run, entirely online, over 3 days and 3 tracks of content from 10th - 12th March 2027 - 12:00 - 22:00 UTC.

The event has seen steady growth over the past 3 years seeing around a 20% increase in attendance from one year to the next. This year we anticipate at least 350+ attendees from a range of backgrounds across the globe. C++Online offers a true, international conference experience, open to all and with a focus on those who might otherwise be able to attend traditional in-person events due to cost or location.

Talk Proposals

We welcome proposals for different formats and lengths (we have a few set lengths for scheduling purposes - but let us know if you want to do something very different).

As in previous years, we want to particularly focus on interactive sessions and/ or fresh content.

Online presentations have their own strengths and weaknesses - let’s play to the strengths! The online format is also a little more informal, making it a great opportunity to test out new talk topics and ideas.

So while our normal 30, 60 or 90 minute lecture-style talks are still welcome, we encourage you to think outside the box and see what else you can come up with. Quizzes, games, group-workshops are all examples - but we’re keen to hear what you have in mind. Be creative. We would also like to see more content for beginners, or focused on fundamentals.

As with last year, we will also be prioritising fresh/new content that hasn't already been given at numerous other conferences - unless of course the talk is significantly updated or built upon from prior versions.

As usual we will also be running lightning talks on one of the evenings, which we'll collect proposals for closer to the event.

We’ll also have open content as another way to submit proposals for talks after the CFS has closed.

What Should I Present?

We have C++ in the name and we would expect all attendees to be at least interested in C++, and most actively using it. But we do not limit submissions to C++ specific content only. We are happy to consider talks on wider areas of interest, general programming, guidance, advice or comparisons with other languages.

If you have a topic that is likely to be of interest to many, or most, C++ developers we want to hear about that, too. That could be a taster of alternate languages (Rust is an obvious example), topics related to the software development lifecycle (CI/ CD, testing, static analysis, build systems, containers etc) and productivity. If in doubt, drop us a line - or just submit anyway.

For more extreme departures of subject matter, we recommend submitting the talk as an open content session (submissions for this will open at a later date) as these talks can be on much broader topics, even non-programming/general interest subjects.

Who Should Present?

We want to put on the best conference possible. We believe that this means hearing from voices from different backgrounds and experience levels. As part of this commitment, the main round of submission reviews is anonymised (so please try to avoid including personally identifiable words or phrases in your title, abstract and outline).

We'd also like to make it especially clear that people from all backgrounds - minorities or otherwise - are not only welcome, but we will do whatever we can to actively support you. If you have any questions or concerns about this, always feel free to contact us.

If you are a new or inexperienced speaker we still want to hear from you. We believe in supporting the next generation of voices and will do what we can to help and support you - and, ideally, pair you up with a mentor.

Speaker Benefits

All accepted speakers will receive:

  • Complimentary full access to the whole event, including on-demand access to the videos of sessions shortly after they finish. (Not including workshops)
  • Early Access to All 2027 YouTube Videos
  • Your Talk Published to the C++Online YouTube channel
  • Assets that you can use to promote your session on social media
  • 50% discount on workshop registrations

How Long Do I Have?

The Call For Speakers will remain open until midnight (GMT) on 20th November 2026. But don't wait until then! Those last-minute, rushed, submissions are never as good as those you have set aside the time, early on, to do properly. After that time a panel of reviewers will short-list the content (both talks and workshops) that will make up the programme. We aim to notify speakers once the public review has ended, likely by mid-December or early January at the latest.

What Is The Process?

We’ll look to send out acceptances after the public review phase ends, once submissions have closed. We’ll look to accept around XX number of submissions (those rejected will be offered options to submit their content in other formats such as Virtual Posters or Open Content)

As part of the acceptance process, speakers will be invited to onboard themselves to our online conference platform where they will complete the onboarding questionnaire and confirm some preproduction elements, such as:

  • Committing to providing a test recording of their local presentation setup
  • Attending an ahead of time induction and tech check session
  • Confirming their ability to present live, of if that's not possible, the ability to provide a high quality pre-recorded presentation
