Advent of Code problems are small, self-contained, and focused on data parsing and transformation; this makes them an ideal playground for modern C++ views, ranges and stl algorithms.

In this interactive open content session, the goal will be to solve selected Advent of Code challenges using C++20/23 features such as std::ranges, views, and standard algorithms, treating C++ as a composable, functional-style data-processing language; comparing it with more traditioanl ways of solving them to show adventages like code clarity without losing performance. We will see how to structure a small project with cmake, unit and benchmark tests.

I am a developer with +15 years of experience in c++; mostly in the telco industry. I have an interest in programming languages and the different programming paradigms, including functional programming; and I like the multiparadigm quality of C++ and the possibility of creating abstractions like stl algorithms with performance
