Time to Introspect
A Beginner's Guide to Practical Reflection
C++26 introduces standard compile-time reflection, a major shift in how the language can reason about itself and a new foundation for modern C++ development. With reflection, C++ gains the ability to introspect its own types, making tasks like serialization, meta-programming, and boilerplate reduction both simpler and more powerful.
In this session, I’ll introduce the core ideas behind reflection, walk through the syntax, and demonstrate practical use cases. Through motivating examples, short quizzes, and live coding, attendees will interactively explore how to inspect types, iterate over members, and apply reflection in real code. No prior experience with reflection is required.
