If you bought a main conference ticket that took place on March 11th - 13th, you’ll can get a discount towards your first workshop purchase that reduces the workshop cost by the full value of your conference ticket—meaning you can upgrade to a workshop without paying more overall.

C++ Software Design by Klaus Iglberger

Thursday 30th April 09:00 - 17:00 UTC / 05:00 - 13:00 EDT - £345/$460/€400 - £90/$120/€105 for students

The design plays a much more central role in the success of a project than any feature could ever do. Good software is not primarily about the proper use of any feature; rather, it is about solid architecture and design. Good software design can tolerate some bad implementation decisions, but bad software design cannot be saved by the heroic use of features (old or new) alone.

(Klaus Iglberger, C++ Software Design)

Good software design is essential for the success of a project and design patterns are the core ingredient for that. They have proven to be useful over several decades and knowledge about them is still very useful to design robust, decoupled systems. Modern C++, however, has profoundly changed the way we use C++, think about design and implement solutions. This 1-day training explores modern C++ design and the modern forms of the classic Gang-of-Four (GoF) design patterns. It provides guidelines, idioms and best practices for sustainable and maintainable design, which enable programmers to create professional, high-quality code.

Stop Thinking Like a Junior - The Soft Skills That Make You Senior by Sandor Dargo

Friday 8th May 20:00 - 23:30 UTC / 16:00 - 19:30 EDT - £172.5/$230/€200 - £45/$60/€55 for Students

Many developers spend years improving their technical skills but still feel stuck at the same level. The difference between a junior and a senior engineer isn’t only about writing better code — it’s about how you think, communicate, and take ownership.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the mindset shifts and soft skills that truly define senior engineers. You’ll learn how to approach problems like an owner, communicate with clarity and empathy, and turn code reviews into opportunities for growth — both for yourself and for others. We’ll also discuss how to manage your time, energy, and expectations so you can deliver impact without burning out.

This workshop isn’t about writing code — it’s about becoming the kind of engineer others want to work with, learn from, and rely on.

Jumpstart to C++ in Audio - Learn Audio Programming & Create Your Own Music Plugin/App with the JUCE C++ Framework by Jan Wilczek

Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th May 13:00 - 16:30 UTC / 09:00 - 12:30 EDT - £345 £150/$200/€175 - £90/$120/€105 for Students

C++ is ubiquitous in audio. From music players to music production software to virtual instruments running on embedded platforms.

But getting started with C++ & audio is not easy, even for experienced C++ developers. There are many basics and pitfalls that are unknown unknowns: you don’t know they exist until you start investigating why your audio software glitches.

This workshop will teach you the basics of audio processing in theory and practice, and will allow you to create your first audio plugin: a flanger. We will go through the basics of digital audio signal processing, how audio processing is performed on modern computers, and how you can create your own audio software, be it plugins or apps. There will be plenty of time for Q&A and individual help.

Safe and Efficient C++ for Embedded Environments by Andreas Fertig

Tuesday 12th May 09:00 - 17:00 UTC / 05:00 - 13:00 EDT - £345/$460/€400 - £90/$120/€105 for students

This course will enhance your embedded systems skills using modern C++ up to C++23. By practical examples, you will learn how to write code that is safer, more robust, and more efficient. You will see patterns to replace the POSIX length value API.

We'll start with the basics and gradually move on to more advanced topics, all designed to make your code stronger and more efficient.

Many embedded systems operate without a heap. We explore standard compliant and undefined behavior-free ways to deal with custom allocators. You’ll see firsthand how unique_ptr, from the Standard Library (STL), can be a game changer even in memory-constrained environments.

By the end of this course, you'll not only be well-versed in the latest C++ features tailored for embedded systems but you'll also be equipped to write type-safe code that effectively avoids common pitfalls such as out-of-bounds access. Improve your code's readability and maintain efficiency, all while mastering the art of embedded programming with confidence.

Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of C++11.

Mastering std::execution (Senders/Receivers) by Mateusz Pusz

Friday 15th May 09:00 - 17:00 UTC / 05:00 - 13:00 EDT - £345/$460/€400 - £90/$120/€105 for students

Today, C++ software is increasingly asynchronous and parallel, a trend that is likely only to continue going forward. While the C++ Standard Library has a rich set of concurrency primitives and lower-level building blocks, we lack a standard framework for asynchrony and parallelism that C++ programmers desperately need. Asynchrony and parallelism appear everywhere, from processor hardware interfaces to networking, to file I/O, to GUIs, to accelerators. Every C++ domain and every platform needs to deal with asynchrony and parallelism, from scientific computing to video games to financial services, from the smallest mobile devices to your laptop to GPUs in the world's fastest supercomputer. This training shows that concurrency is not only about the C++ Standard Library threading and synchronization low-level tools. During the workshop, you will learn how to write efficient, asynchronous, and highly concurrent code without the need for any manual synchronization between threads, leading to simpler code and faster runtimes. During the hands-on exercises, you will create parallel processing pipelines with a new std::execution framework, also called Senders/Receivers, which will arrive as a part of C++26. The reference implementation of this framework is publicly available on GitHub, allowing it to be used in production immediately without waiting for the next C++ release.
